Hi! I’m Glenda

................

Nature Trail Guide Artist

As a child, my love for nature flourished during evening hikes at our family farm, nestled in deep and wild woods, discovering animal tracks and marveling at nature’s wonders. As I grew older, I cherished backpacking trips, guided nature tours, and camping adventures that further deepened my connection to the natural world. I went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology, where I gained a deep understanding of Colorado’s ecosystems and the intricate lives of its native wildlife, making me well-equipped to lead nature-focused classes. During my college years, I spent a summer working with the Division of Wildlife, participating in many wildlife studies and exploring Colorado’s native wildlife, fish species, and their habitats. I also volunteered at a Raptor Rehabilitation Center, where I assisted injured birds of prey and engaged in public education efforts. And as a Park Ranger and Naturalist, I further honed my knowledge and skills in environmental education, where I created educational displays and led engaging nature hikes for park visitors. Yet, my journey was not confined to the realms of science alone. Driven by my love for learning, I pursued a master’s degree in instructional design, where I found myself drawn to the art of education, seeking to blend my passion for nature with my love of creativity.

My Artistic Journey

In addition to my academic and professional background, my lifelong passion for art and creativity adds another dimension to my teaching approach. As a self-taught artist, I’ve wielded pencils and brushes since early childhood, honing my art through formal instruction and immersive painting experiences. My artistic journey has included colored pencils, watercolor and acrylic painting, pen and ink illustrations, and photography. In addition, I draw inspiration from luminaries in meditation and personal development, and enjoy weaving mindfulness into my experiences, creating a space where exploration of the natural world intertwines with personal growth.

As I embark on this journey as a Nature Trail Guide Artist, my mission is clear: to inspire artists through creative and transformative experiences with art and nature. With every lesson, I aim to kindle the same sense of wonder and connection in nature that has guided me throughout my life, leading fellow artists on a journey of discovery, creativity, and profound self-discovery.

Home Art Studio Organization & Design Coach

My journey to home organization and design began in my childhood home — a cluttered space that ignited family disputes and left me feeling trapped and embarrassed. As an artistic child, my room served as my only sanctuary, a space where I felt grounded and free to express my creativity. It was in that space that I realized the profound impact organization and design could have on one’s health and well-being. This childhood experience lit the spark for my life’s work—transforming homes into beautifully organized spaces. As a fellow artist, home stager, interior redesigner, and former Marie Kondo Tidying Consultant, I bring years of design experience that is customized to suit your unique artistic needs.

My mission is to empower you and transform your home art studio into a haven that’s inspiring, beautiful, and functional.

My Values

Born and raised in the beautiful landscapes of Colorado, I now live on the Western Slope in Grand Junction. I've always been drawn to the great outdoors. Whether it’s horseback riding, camping, or hiking, the call of the wild is irresistible to me. My passion extends to the arts, where I immerse myself in the world of acrylic and watercolor painting, sculpture, and colored pencil illustrations.

Family and friends are the core of my life, and I cherish moments spent with my son and our two beloved pets, Tundra, a spirited Shiba Inu, and Harley, the most unique cat I've ever met. Together, they make our lives a continuous stream of joy and amusement.

An avid traveler with an insatiable curiosity, I embrace every opportunity to learn and explore new places, constantly seeking to enrich my life with new experiences and wisdom.
